Positioned within the expanse of the Bangabandhu Shilpa Nagar Economic Zone in Mirsarai, Chittagong, this monumental project promises the introduction of electric vehicles in the local market by March of the upcoming year. With a budget allocation of 790 crores to erect the factory, the initiative is drawing financial backing from a consortium of 10 banks, organized into two financial coalitions.

Supplementing this substantial financial support, entrepreneurial contributions are stepping in to fulfill the remaining capital needs. With infrastructure development already in the rearview, the 100-acre facility is now undergoing the final phases of equipment and material installation.

Delving deeper into the financial blueprint, about three-quarters of the total investment is earmarked for constructing essential components such as the vehicle’s body, battery, motor, and charger manufacturing units. The residual funds, accounting for the remaining 25 percent, are reserved for sourcing exquisite interior design elements from overseas.

Diverse vehicle structures, ranging from elegant sedans and robust SUVs to functional buses, will originate from this innovative plant. Further amplifying the project’s scope, a distinct factory named Bangladesh Lithium Battery Limited is on the horizon.

This establishment will cater to a broader spectrum of energy needs, producing batteries suitable not only for electric vehicles but also for solar energy systems, data centers, and uninterrupted power supplies (UPS). An auxiliary facility, Mango Technologies Limited, will specialize in developing motor control and charging mechanisms.

Beyond technological advancements, the initiative serves as a beacon of hope for the job market, promising to offer roles for 1,500 individuals at its inception. As the production scales up, this figure is projected to burgeon to a staggering 5,000.

In its primary phase, the facility is geared to roll out 60,000 two-wheelers, 40,000 three-wheelers, and 30,000 four-wheelers, all under a distinctive Bangladeshi brand. For all car brands follow our Car Price in BD page.

But the vision doesn’t stop at vehicle production. The larger blueprint encompasses the roll-out of charging stations interspersed across the nation’s petrol pump network. Constructed with a focus on user comfort, these vehicles aim to seamlessly blend internationally sourced interiors with local craftsmanship, placing Bangladesh on the global map for automotive excellence.
